Electrified Marina

Gas or diesel engines are currently the best option for long-distance use in boats due to the higher energy density of liquid fuel compared to batteries. Despite ongoing improvements in lithium-ion battery technology at a rate of 3-5% per year, battery energy density remains about 1/8th that of gasoline, making it less suitable for extended high-consumption activities like long-distance boating. While electric propulsion is excellent for local trips or lighter loads, it isn’t yet ideal for heavy-duty or long-distance marine applications. As of now, there aren't any electric solutions comparable to heavy-duty diesel setups for managing larger vessels or longer routes. However, for the right use case such as short distance travel, lakes and watersports, electric boats excel.
