Electrified Marina

According to boat club data, the average boater travels about 25 miles in a full day of use. With a full charge, you can get a whole day with average use, returning to your slip at the end of the day to charge overnight. The process of plugging in is simple and takes a couple seconds to accomplish. Think of it like plugging in your cell phone while you sleep. You can charge an electric boat overnight with a simple 120v or 240v outlet. At most you would need the equivalent of a stove/dryer plug that is 220V 30-50A. Most marinas have dual 30A’s with 50A outlets being common at larger marinas. The DC fast charger infrastructure is almost non-existent on the water for boats but companies like Aqua Superpower are looking to change that. If you know of a marina interested in hosting a DC fast charger, let us know! The ideal location will have a restaurant or electric boat rental fleet on site. Keep an eye out for one at Willoughby Marina in Norfolk VA coming soon.
